SYNOPSIS
We need to grow !! we need development !
Who are WE?
Is it the common people or the MNCs ?
The people of kudankulam unanimously say that they dont want this development?
Then how can development be imposed on a people?
After fukushima, lots of countries have decided to stop sanctioning nuclear plants!
Fukushima was a total shock for those who trusted their governments and nuclear energy..
The authorities keep saying that the Koodamkulam Nuclear plant is safe.
What is safety?
Who decides safety?
How do we define safety?
The questions before the people are umpteen!
Even if nuclear plants are 99% safe, who will bear the costs of 1% accidents like those in Chernobyl or Fukushima?
Even without an accident, radioactive radiation is emitted by the very functioning of a nuclear plant; recent studies in kalpakam, tharapur etc have proven that radiation causes cancer, genetic disorders etc.
do we really need nuclear energy itself?
3000 MW electricity is been produced from the Thirunelveli district wind mills, and the KKNP reactors have promised us only 2000 MW.
The state is going ahead with its plans.
The people’s movement against these plans and Nuke plants is becoming stronger by the day the world over….
